The 74th edition of Venice International Film Festival has officially kicked off with 2 Iranian films in lineup.
In a ceremony in Italy on Wednesday night with the attendance of Italian president, famous actors, and international guests the 74th edition of Venice film Festival officially started.
21 films will participate in the competition section of the event to win the golden lion.
The lineup for 2017 edition of the event includes 2 Iranian films. ‘Disappearance’ by Ali Askari and ‘No Date, No Signature’ by Vahid Jalilvand will attend the New Horizons section of the event.
‘No Date, No Signature’ depicts the story of a doctor who works at the Iranian Legal Medicine Organization. He has to examine the corpse of someone that he used to know in the past.
‘Disappearance’ narrates the story of two young lovers who go from hospital to hospital in search of help at a cold night in Tehran. Soon they will have to face the tragic consequences of their youthful inexperience.
Founded in 1932, the Venice Film Festival or Venice International Film Festival (Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica della Biennale di Venezia) is the oldest film festival in the world and one of the Big Three film festivals alongside the Cannes Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festival.
The 74th edition of the Venice International Film Festival is held from August 30 to September 9, 2017.
